I wasn’t going to knit along with the WestKnits mystery shawl group this year. I’m deep into working on all the different stuff to get my first self published designs live, and I have a ton of much needed sweaters on the needles–it got crazy cold early this year in Maine.
Then I saw the brioche.
I’ve been working on the clues in stolen moments: at night with a movie, while traveling. I love that WestKnits patterns are easy to stop and start–lots of long, easy to read rows. Ravelry details are here.
My shawl is in a bunch of different bits of handspun. Three natural colors and one handdyed:
A: 2 ply natural black alpaca & natural black alpaca/silk
B: 2 ply medium brown Shetland/BFL X, a raw fleece I purchased from dreamcatchersheep
C: Off white pygora/cormo/silk from a batt I purchased from Underhill Fiber Farm in Gorham. Casey is stocking Jenny’s fibers at PortFiber now–SO worth a visit.
D: Hedgehog Fibres Merino/silk/flax in a fibre club colorway. So fun knit up, with the flaxy texture and glowy barley sugar candy colors
What about you? Do you like mystery shawls? Are you knitting along?
